Cookies are small values that a browser may send with website requests. localStorage keeps values in the browser for scripts from the same site to read. The site’s preference control uses localStorage, not a cookie. The preference value is not automatically attached to page requests by this code.

Scope: this browser and site origin; not synchronised by the site.
The code does not write this preference until you press a choice button. Clearing it removes the record. A private browsing session, storage restriction or browser cleanup may prevent it from persisting. Your ability to read the guides does not depend on storage access.
What is not stored
The site does not save contact drafts, email addresses, browsing histories or habitat-tab selections in localStorage. The message tool holds its draft in the current page. A downloaded file or copied draft is separate device data that you control. Your browser may independently retain form history, clipboard history or session state.
Third-party sites and hosting
External reference sites may use their own cookies when you visit them. Their practices are not controlled by Lookoutraplunz. The site code does not embed their pages or load external fonts or scripts. Hosting infrastructure can have separate delivery or security processes; see Privacy Details for the distinction between ordinary requests and local browser tools.
Changing your mind
Use the controls above at any time, or remove this site’s data through your browser’s privacy settings. A saved allowance is not blanket permission for any future tracking technology. If optional tools are introduced, their purposes and applicable choices need to be explained before use.
